I believe Riposte may have a better average dps for this fight, but it's also random whether you get hit and the fight is more important to finish reliably than just boosting something that might not even get triggered. Riposte can be worthwhile I suppose but I usually just lay down DOTs. My line is generally something like JES/HWM/HEL/HEL.

The only other self-buff I might consider is Tracking Shot, but I really don't think it's an optimal use of actions. You have basically 16 actions to kill this thing before it flies away, which is quite doable, but you don't have much room for wasting moves, missing, stopping to heal, etc. You really don't want to be spending any time at all doing anything but damage though. I personally don't bring a healer to this although I double up on Hellions, who have a weakish self-heal. This thing can hit 3 times in a row and sometimes does, and often applies DOTs which can really ruin your day. Last thing you want is to lose some high value character, which you're generally going to be bringing an A team to this fight, because you were too cheap to remove some debuff/DOT. The bird is usually dead by the end of round 3.ĭon't cheap out, bring every consumable that can be used in battle and use them early and often. My usual strategy is to jack up ACC with trinkets and quirks, then use Jester's Battle Ballad twice at the beginning, buff everyone with Holy Water, bring Aegis Scales, then Solo and Fine with Jester if I have to. You have a higher chance of getting some genuinely excellent quirks by killing the bird, but it's considerably more risky as it is ludicrously dodgy.
